Ani Tatintsyan is an Armenian-American writer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California. She was born in Goris, Armenia and moved to the United States with her family at the age of nine. She has a BA in Political Science and English Literature from the University of Southern California (USC), and an MA in Aesthetics and Politics from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). Her thesis Melancholic Attachments: Political Agency of Sadness has been an influential part of her artistic practice. She has presented her academic work at Columbia University, George Washington University, and Humber College in Toronto.
