Mikhail Torich (born April 7, 1982 Leningrad, Soviet Union) is an American award-winning filmmaker whose directing work includes music videos, short films, and video art. Master of Fine Arts in Media-Design, international music video director, photographer and visual artist, Torich was granted permanent US-residentship in prestigious "Artist of Extraordinary Abilities" status. His over 15 year artistic work spans across Russia and Germany and into the United States counting over 100 music videos for European and American musicians, celebrities and entertainers.
Mainstream work includes Billboard-charting "Hard Times" music video for the Original Village People Cowboy, multi-platinum recording artist Randy Jones, "Oh Mama Hey" for legendary house-singer Crystal Waters, "Ouja Board" for RuPaul's Drag Race show winner Sharon Needles, "Departed" for Sully Erna (US-famous Godsmack band), "Speakerphone" - the official contest music video for Kylie Minogue, official come-back music video "That's All" for european pop-star Sin with Sebastian, widely aired on MTV Europe and Deutsche Welle, music video "Don't Let Love Down" for double-Grammy-award-winner Rob Fusari, youtube sensation AB Soto, legendary Wigstock founder entertainer Lady Bunny.
Experimental short film "Nothing", directed and produced by Torich has been world-premiered at 2013 Cannes Film Festival, France, underground musical film "Testo", also directed and produced by Mikhail Torich received the "Best Experimental Film - 2012" award at the 3d annual "International World Music and Independent Film Festival" in Washington, DC and "Honorary Mention Award" at 3d annual 2013 Los Angeles New Wave Film Festival. In 2011 his video art film "Hold Me Closer" has been officially for the annual Cologne-OFF festival, which resulted in worldwide showcases all over the world, including Mexico Museum of Modern Art, Belgrade, Cologne, Koln, Kiev, Havana and more.
In September 2018 Torich's video art installation "CloudFace", originally unveiled at the national US landmark The Stonewall Inn has been selected and presented at "SPACES" installment of "SURFACES" festival produced in Venice, Italy by It'sLIQUID group in conjunction with 2018 Venice Biennale d'Arcitettura.
