Mujtaba Saeed

Mujtaba Saeed was born and raised in Saudi Arabia. From an early age, he was curious about exploring the theater and film scenes of the Arab World. In 2006, he moved to Germany where he continued his studies in film directing and graduated from the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in 2020. Mujtaba’s directing credits range between short fiction films, feature screenplays, T.V series and feature documentaries through which he explores themes of intercultural contexts, identity, and the dilemmas of human existence.

He is best known for his short films “Lime”, “Compass”, “Darkness is a Color”, and the multi award winning film “Zawal” produced by ARTE Germany.
