Darbha Appaji Ambarisha

Mr. Appaji Ambarisha Darbha, a creative digital-media professional turned actor was born in the quaint town of Samalkot in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh in 1965. His illustrious parents Mr. Ramsha Darbha and Mrs. Siriesha Darbha were both amateur actors and the pioneers of the well-noted and largely-circulated magazine, 'Abhisarika'. Appaji Ambarisha forayed into advertising and digital media at an early age, following his professional passion and proclivity. He worked on many innovative technologies in printing and publishing domain in a career spanning nearly three and a half decades. He has also conceptualized various designs and Unicode fonts compatible with contemporary software, especially in Telugu and Kannada for Google, and made his mark as a graphic designer par excellence, working for distinguished advertising firms in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. After a highly satisfying career in his chosen profession, he gave in to his personal passion, acting, in 2011, as the protagonist's father for a commercial of 'Priya Foods-Snack Magic'. His acting career, amply supported by his wife, Dr. Sudharani Miriyala, son DSV Ramsha and daughter-in-law Krishna Manjusha, took a natural progression towards short films when he debuted in the very popular 'Apparao Gari Abbayi' as the lead character Apparao. Till date, he has made his appearance in well received films and also short films such as 'Aa Nishi Lo' and 'Apparao Gari Pichi'. His latest short film 'Krishnamurthy Garintlo' went on to win many accolades and awards and has brought the fine actor in him the much deserved appreciation from audiences and critics alike.
