Mohammadhossein Latifi

The award-winning director Mohammadhossein Latifi (محمدحسین لطیفی), born in 1962 in Tehran, began his artistic path with painting and sculpting before he specialized in animation. He calls himself an impressionist and was a member of the audiovisual animation division of the Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults. His film and television career started with the position as an assistant director for 'Little Soldier (1985) and progressed to the point when Mohammadhossein Latifi received a Crystal Symorgh for Best Director for his war drama 'The Third Day (2007) at the 25th Fajr International Film Festival. Among his creations, 'Aynak-e-Doodie (2001) was nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Iran Cinema Celebration Awards. The comedy explores the theme of marriage and womanhood in contemporary Iran.
