Andrew Boley
Denver, Colorado, USA
Andrew Boley has slyly defined high brow concepts with down and dirty aesthetics. ‘Kill Him’ (2015), a Hobo Noir(a subgenre that starts and ends with 'Kill Him') generally feels filthy and is set in a grimy part of the city but also tackles dark, dramatic themes like honor and societal responsibilities. ‘Mysterious Ways’(2018) is a short film that Andrew wrote & directed about hipster musicians in LA, grungy and grimy 'Mysterious Ways' also tells the story of a couple trying to balance the precariousness of maintaining the person you were while becoming the person you wish to be. Through all of his work his tongue is firmly planted in cheek, each project has an unmistakable sense of dry humor as does his debut feature film(in development) 'Heart Cooks Brain,' a horror/thriller involving motorcycle gangs, a trailer park nicknamed "The Compound" and a mysterious drug that turns the users into bloodthirsty zombies.
